| AT LAST South Africa has
a national association which has been elected and
constitutionalised and which is dedicated to the sport of
SEA KAYAKING, whether it is practised on the sea,
estuaries, lagoons, lakes, dams, open water, flat water,
rivers or in your pool, duck pond, jacuzzi or bath tub !!
What started as an advert in a national outdoor magazine and led to a first meeting of interested sea kayakers in Cape Town in February 1997 has culminated in the founding of an association which will strive to represent South African sea kayaking nationally and internationally. It is dedicated to:
RECSKASA represents a synthesis of recreational and commercial sea kayaking activities so that members can benefit by being fully informed about what’s happening in the sea kayaking world. Commercial members are expected to exercise responsibility and professionalism in their activities and are invited to advertise their products in the newsletter, to contribute substantially to RECSKASA and to offer discounts to recreational members! !! If you missed the General Meeting in July 1997 and wish to have a copy of the CONSTITUTION to learn more, just phone. Better still, join so that we can represent you ! |

| This is an association and newsletter
which serves you so please contribute as much as you can
to its growth. In future newsletters we will offer
various departments to which you are invited to
contribute. Whatever your interests are in respect of
kayaking, you are sure to find it interesting. Paddlers
are welcome to write articles about their kayaking
experiences,share their opinions and sell their products.
Departments include Club and Chapter news, Member news,
