Rothman Manor, build in 1834, is a large historic estate in Swellendam, Western Cape. We offer accommodation for the upper market and were rated from Portfolio Retreats Collection (edition 03/04) in category Luxury. We were also grated from the Tourism Council of South Africa with 4-stars in the guest house category.
All rooms are in two separated houses build in the charming Cape Dutch style. One of it is also a National Monument as the main house is.
•Location: Swellendam is situated on the N2, half way between Cape Town and George (220 km). To find our guest house is fairly easy: When you come the N2 from direction Cape Town, take the second exit to Swellendam (Swellendam West), which is the R60 to Ashton. After 1 km you come to a 4-way-stop, turn right into the Voortrek Str. The Rothman Manor is then the 4th house on the right hand side.
If you come from direction George you should take the second exit from the N2 to Swellendam, which is the same exit as described above. •number of rooms: 4 suites, 1 bedroom •facilities + rates:
All of our rooms have their own entrance, en-suite bathroom, well stocked minibar, ceiling-fan, some with air-condition, coffee- and tea-facilities, Sat-TV, telephone, safe and internet connection. The bathrooms are marble-floored with under-tile heating.
On the large grounds of 3.5 hectares is a big dam with plenty of bird and fish life.A solar-heated saltwater pool with 11 meter in length invites for a swim. Breakfast is served depending on weather under a beautiful old oak tree.
