Tudor House was built in 1937 for the Hobbs family using strong Tudor styled architectural features in parts of the building. The property has been transformed over the years into 9 luxury self-catering apartments each with its own feel and personality. A hint of the Tudor style has been retained and is evidenced in large wooden beams in some of the apartments.
Tudor House is located right on the rocks of the Fish Hoek Bay with Jaegers Walk (refered to as the Cat Walk by locals) and the railway line providing a quaint and real holiday atmosphere to the area. The number of trains using the railway line has decreased steadily over the years with guests commenting that they add character rather than a disruption of their stay at Tudor House. The railway line has been damaged close to Glencairn with the result that it will be closed for at least a year. Sea views that are north facing are extremely sought after as the property gets the best of the sun as it rises in the east and sets in the west. Early morning sunrises are sometimes so beautiful during the winter that the sky is a bright orange in colour.
