This
central region is characterised by endless rolling prairies
of wheat, sunflower and maize fields and forms the principle
bread basket of South Africa. Populated by scattered towns
and thousands of farms, the Free State was the destination
of the disgruntled Dutch who fled British rule in the Cape
and trekked Northwards. Discover the exquisite beauty of this
arid Karoo region bathed in warm sunshine and dressed in golden
browns and capped in azure blue skies dotted with billowing
summer clouds.
